My Sister, My Friend | Scrapbook Layout with Jillibean Soup

 Hi Everyone! Happy Friday! I've got another layout from the International Scrapbooking Day festivities. This one was the result of the special Freaky Fast Friday challenge at the Scraproom with a floral theme from Scrapbook & Cards Today and an inspiration photo from Jillibean Soup.

When I see fringe I either think Party or Country - I didn't have any good party photos I wanted to scrapbook so I went with the Country theme and grabbed a photo of me and my sister at a Brad Paisley concert a few years ago. Since we're going country I choose the Farmhouse Stew collection from Jillibean Soup for my main kit.

I used the 4.5x6.5 prompt on the freaky fast friday challenge to create this block of fringe, but cutting 2 pieces of kraft card stock to that size. One served as my base and the other I cut into strips and fringed using fringe scissors.

My embellishments were a mix of things from the collection kit but also some handmade leaves and flowers using the new We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill. This was my first time using it.

I love it but my only complaint is I assumed it would draw AND cut out the images, but the cut feature wasn't a part of the SVGs (at least the first batch I tried).

So I ran it through my brother scan n cut. It was able to pick out the lines and successfully cut out the flower images because there was enough contract in color between the foil lines and the yellow card stock. The leave images however weren't as simple. One of them foiled with some nice bold lines. The machine detected and cut that one out fine. But the other two foiled with thinner lines (not by my choosing) and it couldn't distinguish the outline, therefore wouldn't cut. I fussy cut these.

To finish I added my title to the required 1x3 inch strip from the freaky fast formula, and added some little sticker and sequin embellishments around the page. And there ya have it!
