I got this cutie for Christmas this year. It goes nicely with the cake pop, pie pop, and brownie maker I unfortunately never use. I think this appliance might be a little different though :).
The instructions are very simple. Plug it in, a light indicates when its ready, put cupcake batter (in liners) into machine and cook for 10 minutes. It makes 6 cupcakes at a time. It comes with some recipes.
I prepared a cupcake batter with a box mix. I only wanted 6 cupcakes so I cut the mix into 3rds (by weight for dry ingredients). I was thinking the recipes that came with it might be for 6 cupcakes only, but they were for full batches of cupcakes. Either way, they can be easily converted if you only want 6.
After the machine warmed up (very quickly) I put cupcake liners into the wells and filled them 3/4 full as the instructions said. I used a cookie scoop which I thought would be the least messy option. Closed the lid and set the timer for 10 minutes.
PERFECT!!
They were done in 10 minutes. They were prefect! Perfect shape. Perfect texture. Everything was spot on. I ended up with a little extra batter so I put two more in by themselves, and while they took about 2 minutes longer, they were also perfect. Other reviews said you need to let the machine cool down before cooking a 2nd time, I didn't have this problem. I think they were concerned about getting burned? I just used a fork to "scoop" the cupcake out of the wells (the same way I do with a cupcake pan).
My test recipe was a semi-homemade (half box half scratch) recipe with some simple store bought frosting, but I am looking forward to trying some of my more difficult recipes in the machine.
