Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit Creations

Hi Friends, I'm here to today sharing the first few cards I made with the April 2019 Simon Says Stamp card kit. This was my first time giving any sort of card kit a go - I have to say this particular one was a good value, and I love the ability to try some things I may not of otherwise purchased. The kit came with a large stamp set, an awesome die, bunch of pattern and solid card stock, a nuvo sample and more!

My first card uses the die that came with the set, a few of the patterned papers, the solid pink paper, and a sentiment from the stamp set! I decided to do a paper piecing technique with the die by cutting it out of multiple papers and piecing them all together. I mounted my finished die cut onto the white card stock that comes in the kit, the onto some gold glitter card stock I had in my stash, and lastly onto one of the pieces of pattern paper which I adhered to an a2 card base. For my sentiment I stamped and heat embossed it onto a banner of black card stock from my stash, and popped it up with some great foam adhesive that came in the kit.

For my second card I used the floral images from the stamp set to create a pot of flowers which I cut out with my brother scan n cut, you could also fussy cut. I created a window panel by die cutting a scallop circle out of a another die cut. I heat embossed my sentiment, also from the stamp set, before mounting the panel onto some of the patterned paper with the included foam adhesive sheet. I glued down my stamped image inside the window, and added some simple nuvo drop embellishments to the flower centers to finish.

For my last card I used the big bold sentiment that comes with the kit. I wanted to customize it to be multi-color, so i stamped it down with versa mark onto some black cardstock and used the faint image of the versa mark as a guide to paint over. You could also use markers or gel pens, but I really wanted to use this super shimmery watercolor. The photo does do the glitter justice! After I finished the painting, I cut it out with a stitched rectangle die, and added some of the nuvo drops that came with the kit to embellish, before adhering it down to some of the patterned paper with the foam adhesive, and finally onto an a2 card base.

  1. Very cute cards!! I’m glad you tried out the card kit. This was a great one to try out. I love the paper piecing on the rain boot planter die. With all the fun patterns that we can get on rain boots nowadays, this one is perfect!! I’d buy black and white checkered boots!! 😊 Thanks so much for joining us for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. I hope you’ll join us again soon.
