Happy Halloween! Last Minute Cricut Projects + Trunk or Treat!

Hi Everyone! If you're not ready for halloween I have a few projects I whipped up in no time to share
with you. Yes, That is me there doing my best modeling job 😂.. I need a hair cut, stat!

Anyway Project #1, This orange shirt was sitting in my donate pile. I bought it on amazon last year to go with those spider leggins, also in my donate pile, I don't know why I must of been cranky that day,  but I wanted to make something a little more unique to wear to my nephews trunk or treat so I scoured for iron on ideas and then came across one SVG of a pumpkin with eyelashes which is genius because I'm obsessed with lashes.

So to create my shirt ( I don't know if this is the right way, this is my way ) I put it on and used a sewing tape the measure the area I wanted my image so I knew the area on cricut to use. 9x9 for me.
If you were making a shirt for something else, you would of course guess, which I've never gone wrong with either.

I uploaded my SVG into cricut, cut it out per iron on settings, and ironed it on according to the package instructions. Easy peasy!

Next it was time for Aunt Kris duties...

There was a trunk or treat at my nephews day care so me and my sister did up her trunk, I unfortunately spent half the week leading up to it sick or I would've had more handmade paper crafts, but I did put together this fun banner with some Cricut rosettes and font.
Specific Cut File from Design Space: Rosette #M2E75F "Tablescapes Fall and Winter"

Last but not least a little home decor..

This is one of my moms halloween displays. She had a halloween sign with the witches go riding quote but it wouldn't fit anywhere useful so I took the quote and put it on the wall for her. This was my first time using Cricut Premium vinyl and OMG game changer. Much different than the old wall vinyl. I wasn't able to find this online to link for you, I purchase it in Michaels stores in the matte black and the only orange color they had. Way easier to weed and work with. No issues with sticking it's been up for two weeks now, and we didn't prep or clean the walls first (and they've been neglected on the cleaning front because painting is in the near future)

I made this file public in design space and will link below if you wanted to use it. I'm not sure if you have to have to same fonts as me, some of these were system fonts, I listed them on the cricut project.

Boo! Hero Arts Ghost Card with Perfect Pearls

A few weeks ago Jennifer McGuire posted a fun perfect pearls tutorial that I wanted to take a stab at. I'd seen her do it before but it was on of those, yea sure looks good when you do it kinda things, and despite having every color of perfect pearls (via my mother not my own doing) I've never used them aside from making shimmer spritzes.

After I saw the tutorial I immediately wanted to use pearls to make ghosts with an older Hero Arts set I knew I had in my stash. So I grabbed it, and some versa mark, and here is what I came up with.

I stamped my ghosts around the card with the versa mark stick ink, and brushed perfect pearls on top with a fluffy brush, dusting the excess off with a second fluffy brush. There is a perfect pearls brush that came with some of the 4 packs, if you don't have this you can use a fluffy make up brush or a fluffy paint brush.

I embellished the rest of the card with a heat embossed sentiment, some sequins, and some Nuvo drops.

Halloween Treat Bag - Full Size Candy Bar!

So how passes out full size candy bars on Halloween?  There was always one house over by my aunts I would make my dad take me too that gave out full size (as an adult I now know its because she had about 2 tricker treaters, me and my cousin ha-ha). I've always lived on a main road so I've never gotten trick or treaters, but I do have nieces and nephews so here's what they get this year!

The bags are from Lori Whitlock cut files and the front embellishments from Miss Kates Cuttable's {all the exact files will be linked below} she has to the most gorgeous and detailed cut files! To make sure they pop'd I adhered them with a black circle backing (glitter paper of course) just cut out with a circle die.

To get the dimensions I googled the size of a Hershey bar 😂😂 I would have just gone and got one to measure, but I would've eaten it. My original plan had them slightly larger (like a quarter inch) but it was was forcing two off the cut mat and I didn't want to waste a 2nd piece of cardstock so I shrank them down just enough that I could fit 2 treat bags on 1 mat.

If you're worried about sizing and don't want to waste good pattern paper you can always cut on a crappy 12x12 first. I keep a bin of cheapo cardstock that I don't like around to use for templates and stuff like that.

Next I added my MKC files in and put them where they would go on the treat bags so I could get the proper sizing. When I'm doing I decent size cut project like this I like to go over in the layers panel and adjust some of the colors. For example, there were 3 or 4 very similar oranges set to cut that weren't necessary. So I change them to 1 or 2 (depending on if any were intentionally layered or shadowed) so that can reduce the # of mats I need to run through my machine.

Then once everything is ready to cut, click make and get all my mats so I can see what kind of paper I need. I pre-cut everything into squares in the order its going to cut, and then I get my mats ready. I started this new trick, that I'm sure I'm not the first to think of, but its a "duh, why didn't I do this sooner" kind of thing.

One thing to note on Lori Whitlock files with cricut the score lines will come through as cutlines. They will cut as a perforated line until you change the setting to score. I actually kind of prefer the perforated line if I'm using heavy cardstock. It folds easier, but I think it would tear a lighter cardstock.

I use both sides of my mat as a different mat, if that makes any sense. So when its done cutting one color, I just rotate the mat and cut the other instead of a new mat. So I basically get 6 mat cuts out of my 3 mats.

So there you have it! All of my cut files and supplies are linked below. I hope I've provided you a little inspiration for some halloween (or any treat bags really) you could customize this for any occasion!

On on a non-craft related note (well kind of, I made my costume, well not made, but like put together) here are some photos from my annual halloween party this year. Bonus points for those who guess who we are!
