Graduation Layout with Hero Arts

This goes along with yesterdays card featuring the Alpha Tabs stamps set from Hero Arts following out current Challenge theme over at a2z scrapbooking, 'New Beginnings'

I'm not big on jouraling, but I like the idea of jounaling cards so I took one and turned it into a subway art type display with a ton of assorted stamp set from Hero Arts. I wanted the main focal point to be Nicholas 2009 so I stamped it in its own color. Next I stamped out "Hats Off", Heat Embossed, and cut out with the matching die, followed by "To The Grad" which I stamped and heat embossed on a fishtail flag for a two part page title. I used my crop-a-dile to punch little holes in the flags to run some ribbon through, which I ended up adhering to buttons.

I put the whole thing together with my KellyCraft™ Get-It-Straight™ Laser Square and Multi-Mat™

Graduation Card with Hero Arts

Looking for the Lawnscaping Coffee Blog Hop & Giveaway? ---- > Head HERE

In keeping with this months New Beginnings theme I'm celebrating graduation here on the blog today and tomorrow! Graduation season is upon us! Lot's of fresh new adults entering the 'real world' with no where to go but up! So it's no doubt we celebrate the occasion! And what better way than with gold & glitter!
Graduation Card Hero Arts
I went with a blue and gold color combination primarily because this was for a boy, but also just seems like a great graduation color (because it was my high school colors tee-hee) but you could easily replicate using gold + any other color!
I used one of my FAVORITE alpha stamps for this project The letters are the PERFECT size. I find a lot of alpha stamps to be too big for a project or to small to stamp properly. This one is just right!

Here's what I did for this card;
1. Start with a white a2 card base
2. Cut a dark colored base layer a step down smaller I used a die but you could also trim a piece to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
3. Cut a light colored layer a step down smaller. 4 x 5 1/4 and emboss with your favorite embossing folder.
4. Stamp your greeting onto your dark colored cardstock and heat emboss with coordinating embossing powder before cutting out.
5. Embellish with coordinating die cuts. I used this fun graduation image from Cricut which I cut out and glittered generously. I hope this inspires you to join us in this months new beginnings challenge for your chance at a $25 gift card to the store!

Inspiration

I created this fun card with an awesome file from the Creative Cards cartridge

On a side note: I finally got around to getting an Ipad and a bluetooth dongle for my Explore
and let me tell you SO EASY! I don't have a computer in my craft room so I'm always lugging my laptop, trying to find somewhere to put it amongst my hectic assortment of supplies, and this was sooo simple. The app is super easy to use & for some reason works faster than the desktop application. I had all my cuts done in less than 5 minutes!

Getting back to the project now :)
This is a great file for an invitation!

To customize the file. I stamped the "Let's Party" onto the banner and heat embossed.
Then on the inside, I stamped little balloon strings and bows from my favorite
balloon stamp set and coated the balloons with some clear wink of stella.
Here's the inside

I hope this inspires you to join us at the Fantabulous Cricut blog for our Anything Goes challenge!
Head over there and check out the rest of the design team inspiration!!
