One Color One Layer CAS Card

This card took me back to the the rubber stamp roots which required me
to pull out the ole' stamp-a-majig, not as cool as MISTI, but just like riding a bike,
hop right back on and get to work!

I started with an a2 card base cut from neenah solar white cardstock and masked off
all but a 1 inch section to do some inking. I stuck with a single color here, a lighter
shade of gray than what I would use for my main stamping.

After peeling off the masking paper I used the stamp-a-majig to figure out where to align
my florish and after that my sentiment.

My Favorite Things: Spring Tulips Birthday Card

Happy Monday Friends & Hello from Not so Sunny Michigan!
I've been slacking in the blogging department lately and I apologize.
But I'm here now with a card for the MFT Sketch Challenge this week!

I started with a white a2 card base and trimmed a piece of Orange Fizz cardstock
to 4 x 5 1/4 and chomped the corner (with the corner chomper!) & adhered down.

Next I cut a 1inch by 5.5inch strip of white cardstock and using my MISTI
and a plastic quilters template to line up my sentiment and stamp.

For my tulips, I first cut them out of some white cardstock, then stamped them onto
some scratch cardstock and used it and the negative space from die cutting to align
the die cut piece and perfectly stamp, again with the MISTI

I finished the card by creating my bunch of tulips and adhering down followed by
adhering down my sentiment piece with some foam squares and lastly added a few sequins.

Hope you Like!

Hero Arts 3D Stenciling

Hero Arts Butterfly and Flower
Hi Friends, Kristina here with another April Stenciling project! I wanted to try a little 3d effect with my stencil. After aligning and taping my stencil to paper I used a sponge dauber and white ink to blot my image on, then shifted the stencil to the right and up a tad, and blotted pink ink over top before removing my stencil.
Next I went for my Butterfly & Flower Stamp and Cut set, I love the half wilted flowers, like they are just waking up at dawn!
I stamped them with some vintage photo distress ink before coloring in with colored pencils, and finally added a sentiment to a little stitched fishtail flag and mounted my card to a coordinating card stock and a2 base.
Now show us your stencil project!! You have until the end of the month to link up to our April challenge for your chance to win a $25 gift card to the store!!! Need supplies now? Use my discount code KRISTINA15 for 15% off your $25+ purchase!

::Scrapbooked:: {Concert Series} Lets Rock

If you're following my concert series (I go to a lot of concerts) This is #2 so
far in the album dedicated to my very expensive music habit.

I'm attempting to do these in chronological order, however it appears I have no documentation
of the concerts pre-dating 2007, at least photography wise so I'm still deciding how to document those shows and their tickets.

This was mine and my brothers first music festival (and first Rock show), the crowd
was quite interesting, I understand why you aren't allowed to take much into
the venue with you. They confiscated my brothers little wallet chain and made me
take my purse back to the car. Only what I could carry in my pocket!
It poured (and was freezing) all day, hence the trash bag poncho.
But I suppose those are the kinds of things that make memories right?

1. I started with the 12x12 Sketch to the left from the Let's
    Capture Our Memories monthly challenge.
2. I choose my papers and begun building on the sketch filing
in the background strips of paper, I went with .5, 1.5, & 2.5"
    strips with a 2.5" banner
3. I moved onto my photos. I wanted 4x6 at first but they were
just too large, so I re-printed at 4.5 x 3ish (it auto cropped).
4. I printed off a concert poster from the show I found onto some
cardstock and used the ticket as a title.
5. I embellished with assorted stickers and embellies

I use the Kelly Craft Get-It-Straight Laser Square & Multi-Mat to align my page elements

I finally got my hands on the Hero Arts Ombre Inks!!!
LOVE - THEM

I used my Kelly Craft Get-It-Straight Laser Square to alight a straight crooked line, funny huh
but I'm obsessive enough to need my crooked lines straight
I just lined the card up straight at first, and tilted to the next inch marker

Next, I stamped assorted flowers and foliage from the Flower Garden stamp set
in assorted Hero Arts inks. Once done I removed the post-it tape and stamped my sentiment
in Hero Arts Ombre ink, I was going to stop here and leave it a one layer card,
but I decided there was a little too much white space so I did a little stitching
(forgive me, new sewing machine, still learning)
and used a distress market mixed with some frost spray for a few splash speckles

I've linked my supplies below which can be purchased at the a2z scrapbook and YES
