Hero Arts | With Sympathy | Color Layering Fuschia

Hero Arts Color Layering Fuschia
Hi Everyone! Kristina here today playing with the new Hero Arts Color Layering Fuschia. These are up there with one of my favorite flowers. We get several hanging baskets of them each year, the colors are gorgeous and the hummingbirds eat them up! I debated doing a card with just a bunch of them cascading down from the top, which I think would be really pretty, but for today went with something a little cleaner.

I started with a white cardstock panel & used my clarity brush to blend on an ombre of purple inks, and then trimmed down with a rectangle die. For the fuschias, I die cut a circle and did my stamping directly onto it before adhering to the panel with 3d foam. For my sentiment I die cut one last piece, and stamped/embossing in white. Attach everything to a card base and there you have it!

A Blog Named Hero 5th Anniversary Celebration Blog Hop!

Hi Friends! Wow - I feel like it's been forever! My blog has been slow these days, for good reason, my dad had a pretty massive stroke a year ago this month which has required me to care for him full time ever since. I tried very hard to keep up with my crafting, but when I could even find the time (and courage) I felt like my work and quality was suffering. I took a step back from most of my design teams and have pretty much been laying low waiting for a surge of energy and motivation. It's hard to believe that the one thing that was always my "escape" is the thing coming hardest to me, but the crafty world is forgiving and will be there when I get myself back together (all though I know I am missing so many seriously good releases). BUT when I got the email from A Blog Named Hero about this event there was no way I could pass up the invitation.

If you're coming here from the hop and don't know me, I'm a Hero Arts fanatic and was on the 2016 A Blog Named Hero design team. After being a fan of A Blog Named Hero basically since their inception, being on their design team was an honor! Without further adieu,  I would like to congratulate A Blog Named Hero on 5 wonderful years!

I went with a Hero Arts stamp set that I don't feel like gets enough love from me. I've only every used the sentiments and cake, and wanted to mix it up and try to get a few more stamps in the set inky!! And since this is a party, I went all party up in here!

I started with the banner stamp, I didn't have my Hero Arts ombre inks on me so I used a new Recollection Brand ombre ink (that I do not at all recommend, super splotchy, buy Hero Arts) and made a few rows of Banners before getting all confetti and party hats! Keeping with the bright theme I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens to color in my images. I stamped some confetti and added some sequins for a full on party explosion.

Now, The 5th anniversary celebration blog hop takes place across today AND tomorrow and what is a blog hop without a

{a2z scrapbooking} Shades of Red Challenge - Ombre Valentines

Hero Arts Digital Words of Love
I have a quick and simple mostly digital Valentines Day card for you today using Hero Arts Words of Love digital. Sometimes time just gets away from you and you need a quick and easy card to send out it in a jiffy, and this is it! Easily mass produced and ready to embellish > send.

The digital kit comes with both brushes and image files. I choose the brushes and created an Ombre background with the little candy hearts. I started with a pinky color and just slid down the color wheel, darker on each line. To finish, I used another one of the brush files for my sentiment. Printed this baby off, trimmed it down, and embellished with some sequins!

(a2z scrapbooking} Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflies

Hi Friends! Yesterday I was on the a2zs Scrapbooking Blog playing with my new set of Hero Arts Color Layering Butterfly Stamps. I decided instead of layering I wanted something a little more bold, but simple, so I only used the background layer of one of the butterflies to repeatedly stamp assorted color butterflies in Hero Arts Dye Inks. I used the same ink colors and my new Clarity Brushes to color a strip of trimmed off paper the same colors as the butterflies, and used that to line the edge of the card after mounting on some glitter paper. Popped on a sentiment, and there you have it!

{a2z scrapbooking} What's the Word Bird - Hero Arts Handmade

Hero Arts Color Layering Bird

Happy Tuesday friends! Kristina here. Today I'm playing with the Hero Arts Color Layering Bird and Branch I needed a masculine birthday card, and thought Mr. Birdie would fit the bill. I really wanted to use the sentiment "Whats the word Bird" but needed it to be a birthday card, so I hand wrote the rest in. I could have also used a digital stamp or typed/printed. I like that the set comes with a few different options for the branch (Leaves vs Flowers) so you could easily make the a feminine card as well.
My original plan was just a simple one layer card, but I decided it was a little too CAS for me, so I grabbed a postage stamp die and ran the finished card through my die cutting machine, followed by cutting 3 additional squares of the same die to pop it up. I went with some blue inks from the Lia collection, but I think you could get some crazy fun birds mixing up the colors with some of the Hero Arts layering specific ink cubes

{a2z scrapbooking} A Hero Arts New Year

Hero Arts Vintage Christmas
Welcome friends & Happy Holidays! I hope you've had a great weekend and are maybe even enjoying a little time off work today! I wanted to stretch my holiday stamps and get a little more use, by moving them down to the next holiday!

The Vintage Christmas set is versatile enough to be used all winter long. Just pair it with some different sentiments, like I did here. I've mixed a Hero Arts Digitial Stamp "Say it in Peieces" and Concord & 9th "Sophisticated Script" to make my own sentiment.

The Hero Arts Vintage Christmas set + tons of other holiday stamps are currently on sale in the a2z scrapbooking store, while supplies last, and you can save an additional 15% with my discount KRISTINA15 So here's what I did for this card:
  • In photoshop I created an a2 sized blank template, arrange my sentiment pieces where I wanted and printed onto Neenah cardstock
  • Next I stamped and clear embossed "New Year"
  • Lastly I stamped assorted images from the set, to create a little wintery scene
  • To finished, I trimmed the card down by .25" around and mounted it onto some glitter cardstock before adhering to a white card base
And that's it! Super easy and a great way to get more use out of holiday stamps! You could easily swap the sentiments for "Thinking of You" or "Missing You" or even a winter birthday.
